Dear Just Jill,
Help, I have an odor problem!
I love oral sex, but my feminine smell, although there is nothing feminine about it, has me too embarrassed to engage at all!
My gynecologist has told me that natural changes after menopause cause changes in pH that lead to odor. She has reassured me that I don’t have an infection. That’s all well and good but honestly I have gone from smelling like a bed of roses to a sweaty hockey bag!
Why would anyone put their hands down there let alone their mouth? What am I supposed to say? “Don’t touch me there! Here are some nose plugs?"
I’m in desperate need of advice. Surely this can’t be the end of my oral pleasure?
What’s a gal to do?
Sincerely,
Pungent Patricia
Sole Sister Advice & Comments
- This is an excellent question! I don't think a woman out in the world hasn't felt self-conscious about her smell at least once. A shower right before sex for both partners is the game-changer!
- I'm just going to lay this out there. I love my bidet
- Go to a compound chemist and ask for a boric acid suppository- resets your ph, game changer. Use for two weeks, every night, after sex and before sleep.
- Vaginal probiotics can also be helpful.
- Have you talked with your partner about this? What is unpleasant to you may be fine for them as the increased odor could hold more pheromones.
- You could try Boric Acid capsules inserted vaginally to help rebalance the pH levels. This was suggested to me to help prevent vaginal yeast infections when taking antibiotics.
- Here is a helpful link from HealthLink BC.
