Rangler Resources

Thank you for everything you do to help us connect and empower women in midlife and beyond around the world.

Because of your efforts, dedication and care, women are discovering joy, friendship, and community in their Sole Circles—one Ramble at a time.

After all, everywhere is in Rambling distance with Sole Sisters.

DAILY WORKFLOW

You have admin status in both your Circle’s Chatting and Rambling WhatsApp groups.

Your role is to admit new members to both groups, share welcome messages, keep Ramble announcements organized, repost key messages, and answer questions.

Please check in on your groups at least once a day.

If you have questions or need support, you can ask in the Rangler WhatsApp Chat Group or email our Rambler Care Crew at hellorambler@solesisterramblers.com.

Start in the Chatting Group.

Chatting Group

Review and respond to messages from members. Admit new members to the group.

It is best to admit new members only once per day to reduce notifications for everyone.

Repost the Welcome Message and the How to Sign Up Message by scrolling up, copying the most recent version, and posting it again.

If you feel unsure or uncomfortable about a question or situation, post in the Rangler Chat Group for help or guidance.

Rambling Group

Delete redundant Ramble Announcements, keeping only the most recent one.

Remove messages that are not Ramble Announcements so the group stays organized.

Admit new members to the group. As with the Chatting Group, it is best to admit new members once per day to reduce notifications, unless someone is actively asking to join an upcoming Ramble.

Repost all upcoming Rambles and edit the format if needed so they follow the Ramble Announcement Guidelines and to ensure the announcements are clear for members.

Repost the Welcome Message and the Rules and Safety Disclaimer Message by scrolling up, copying the latest versions, and posting them again.

Use these emojis when moderating:

🌸 To mark where you left off moderating.

🦋 To mark a completed Ramble (the last announcement).

The Chatting Group is the heart of your Sole Circle. This is where members connect, ask questions, and begin building friendships with one another.

Answer Questions

Introduce yourself when you begin moderating by saying something like, “Hi, I’m [Name], your Circle Rangler!”

If you are unsure of an answer, it is perfectly fine to say, “That’s a great question, but I don’t know the answer. You can get help from our Rambler Care Crew by emailing hellorambler@solesisterramblers.com.”

Please gently discourage members from using private messages to resolve issues, as these can easily get lost and make it harder for the team to support everyone.

Admit New Members Once Per Day

Add new members to the group and repost the Welcome Message and the How to Sign Up for a Ramble message. You can find these by scrolling up in the chat, copying the most recent version, and reposting it.

Redirect When Needed

If someone posts a Ramble in the Chatting Group, move it to the Rambling Group and let the Rambler know in the Chatting Group where it has been placed.

If someone posts promotions, political content, or anything that breaks the Chatting Group guidelines, take a screenshot and then delete the post.

Afterward, post in the Rangler Chat Group or email hellorambler@solesisterramblers.com so the Rambler Care Crew is aware and can follow up if necessary. We are always happy to handle this for you if you prefer.

If someone asks to join a Ramble in the Chatting Group, make note of their name and number, then add them to the sign-up list in the Ramble Announcement in the Rambling Group.

Respond to Notification Complaints

If members mention too many notifications, you can share our notification management message.

Remind Ramblers that they can mute notifications if needed, but also that Sole Circles are naturally busy places and those little “pings” are simply women connecting.

Track and Escalate

Always alert our Rambler Care Crew by email at hellorambler@solesisterramblers.com about any complaints, negativity, conflicts, or potential problems so the team can help support the situation.

Bookmark

Place a 🌸 emoji where you finished moderating so you, other Ranglers, and the Sole Sister team know where moderation left off if someone else drops in to help.

The Rambling Group is for posting and signing up for Rambles only.

Keeping this group focused on Ramble Announcements makes it much easier for members to quickly find upcoming Rambles.

When moderating, delete redundant Ramble Announcements by removing them one at a time and selecting “Delete for Everyone.”

Keep the most recent Ramble Announcement for each active Ramble (do not delete last announcement) so it remains in the group for future reference.

When a Ramble has been completed, add a 🦋 emoji.

New members should be admitted once per day.

After admitting them, post the Welcome Message by scrolling up in the thread and copying the latest version. Then repost all upcoming Rambles, followed by the Rules and Safety Disclaimer Message.

If needed, edit Ramble Announcements so they follow our Ramble Announcement Guidelines and are clear and easy to understand.

In a very busy Circle it is sometimes helpful to keep your own up-to-date list of all Rambles and their leaders so you can stay organized and easily restore any announcements that may be accidentally deleted.

You can forward announcements to your WhatsApp inbox or take screenshots!

Make sure all new Rambles follow our rules and guidelines, including no profiting, politics, religion, or donation requests.

If you are unsure about something, post a message in the Rangler Chat Group. If you feel uncomfortable declining a Ramble, you can always ask the Rambler Care Crew to handle it.

If a Ramble Announcement is accidentally deleted, don’t worry—it happens to all of us.

This can occur if an admin deletes one while tidying up the group or when many people are signing up at the same time.

If a Ramble Announcement goes missing, send a message to the Ramble organizer in the Chatting Group and ask them to repost it, then let everyone know once it has been restored.

QUICK COPY & PASTE MESSAGES

❣️ Just a quick reminder not to post Ramble Announcements in the Chatting Group. I’ve moved this announcement to the Rambling Group and updated the participant names.

❣️ A quick reminder — Sole Circles are lively spaces, and every “ping” simply means women are connecting, signing up for Rambles, and building friendships. If notifications ever feel overwhelming, you can mute or archive the group and check in whenever it suits you.

❣️❣️ Please don’t casually organize Rambles in the Chatting Group. To keep things inclusive, all Rambles should be posted as a Ramble Announcement in the Rambling Group so every member can see the details and decide if they’d like to join the fun.

❣️❣️ Friendly reminder that this Rambling Group (colored logo) is only for posting and signing up for Rambles. Please hop over to the Chatting Group (black logo) for chatting and questions. We delete other messages here to keep things tidy and make it easy to find the most up-to-date Ramble Announcements.

❣️❣️ Fabulous photos! Could you please repost them in the Chatting Group (black logo)? This Rambling Group (colored logo) is just for posting and signing up for Rambles.

SOLe circle FAQs

Sole Circles are free to join and open to all women in midlife and beyond (generally 45+, though we don’t check ID).

There’s no cost, no pressure, and no expectations — just a welcoming space to connect, move, and enjoy time together.

Men, children, and young women are not permitted to attend Rambles.

Rambles are organized by Sole Circle members, which means any woman in the community can organize a Ramble for an activity she enjoys — whether that’s a walk, a coffee meet-up, a community event, or something entirely different.

Organizing a Ramble is also one of the best ways to meet like-minded Ramblers who want to gather at the same time, in the same place, and in the same style as you do.

Our team regularly deletes outdated Ramble Announcements in the Rambling Group so members can easily find the most current announcements without confusion.

If you have signed up for a Ramble and need to cancel, please remove your name from the announcement. Simply copy the original announcement, delete your name, and repost it — the same way you originally signed up.

Leashed, well-behaved dogs may be allowed at the discretion of the Ramble organizer. Please read each Ramble Announcement carefully and respect when dogs are not permitted, as not everyone is comfortable around them.

If you have questions, our moderating team and Circle Ranglers are always here to help — and there are no silly questions.

Sole Sister Ramblers is a mission driven business and a community where women in midlife and beyond from around the world connect both online and in person.

Our mission is to connect and empower women in midlife and beyond.

Our motto is everywhere is in Rambling distance with Sole Sisters.

Our community is guided by these core values:

Community — Building thriving communities.

Connection — Meaningful relationships online and in real life.

Empowerment — Confidence that grows with every Ramble.

Vital Aging — Nurturing mental and physical vitality.

No Judgment — Come as you are, always.

Friendship — Meaningful bonds that enrich life’s journey.

Sole Circles are — and always will be — free to join and participate in.

There is absolutely no financial obligation to be part of the community. You can simply enjoy the friendships, Rambles, and connection that come from being part of your local Circle.

However, if you have been around for a while and find that your Sole Circle brings joy, friendship, or inspiration into your life, you may wish to support the community through an optional paid membership.

Paid memberships help us grow and sustain the Sole Sister Ramblers community so more women around the world can experience the same connection and support you find here.

When you choose to become a paid member, you’re not just supporting your own journey — you’re helping create opportunities for other women as well. That’s why we say we are Rambler Powered.

We offer flexible membership options including monthly, annual, or one-time contributions so you can choose what feels right for you.

As a bonus, monthly and annual recurring members receive unlimited access to our Virtual Fitness and Lifestyle Challenges, along with discounts on Sole Sister merchandise.

The answer is you!

In a Sole Circle, any member can organize a Ramble for an activity they enjoy, and many Rambles can be posted at the same time.

For your Circle to stay fun and empowering, it helps when some Ramblers take the plunge and organize Rambles while others step out of their comfort zones and join in.

Many women later look back on their first Ramble as the beginning of something beautiful — the moment that sparked new friendships and meaningful community connections.

The more Rambles that happen in your Circle, the more you will get to know one another, the more confidence everyone gains, and the more friendships begin to blossom.

That’s why our motto is: Everywhere is in Rambling distance with Sole Sisters.

The best way to find like-minded Ramblers is to organize and post a Ramble.

It’s easy! Simply write a Ramble Announcement with the key details — what, when, where, and any extras Ramblers should know — and post it in your Circle’s Rambling Group.

Need a hand? Our crew is always happy to help you draft your announcement and get it posted.

The hardest part is taking the plunge. Once you do, the fun (and new friendships!) begin.

If you’ve signed up for a Ramble but need to cancel, please use the sign-up system in reverse to remove your name from the Ramble Announcement.

Copy the announcement, paste it in the message box, remove your name, and repost it.

If it’s a last-minute cancellation, please also send a message to the Ramble leader in the Chatting Group (black logo) so they are aware.

Anyone can organize a Ramble for any activity they enjoy in a Sole Circle. While many Rambles are walks or hikes, there are so many other fun possibilities.

Sole Sisters have organized everything from book exchanges and puzzle nights to yoga classes, climbing wall visits, and sampling local restaurants.

Other Rambles have included bocce ball picnics, salsa and olive oil tastings, pool parties, concerts with dancing, happy hours, swims, canasta games, pickleball matches, wreath making, stuffing pumpkins with succulents workshops, winery visits, pottery workshops, art gallery outings, farm visits, and even workshops on navigation and using paper maps.

The possibilities are endless — because everywhere is in Rambling distance with Sole Sisters.

If you prefer not to have dogs at your Ramble, which is completely understandable, be sure to include that in your Ramble Announcement so Ramblers know in advance and do not need to ask.

If you are comfortable with dogs as long as they are leashed, you can note that in the announcement as well.

For anyone bringing a dog, please check the Ramble Announcement first to see if dogs are invited and always respect the organizer’s wishes.

Sole Circles welcome women of all abilities and fitness levels, but not every Ramble will be suitable for every Rambler.

For example, we have had Rambles for advanced scuba divers and others designed for women recovering from an injury or using a wheelchair.

Each Ramble Announcement should clearly describe the skills or fitness level needed so members can decide whether the activity is right for them.

If you are organizing a Ramble that involves a faster pace, hills, or specific skills, it’s important to include as much detail as possible in the Ramble Announcement so everyone knows what to expect.

Ramble organizers may limit the number of participants who can sign up for their Ramble for any reason, such as personal comfort, trail safety, or restaurant reservations.

To set a maximum number of Ramblers, the organizer will note the limit in the Ramble Announcement. They will also show the number of available spaces by listing numbered slots, with a waiting list underneath.

If the organizer has not specified a limit on the number of participants, simply add your name to the end of the list, even if there is no numbered slot available.

Sole Sister Ramblers is a global community that connects and empowers women in midlife and beyond.

To attend a Ramble (any event posted in a Sole Circle), participants must identify as a woman and be in midlife and beyond.

The general guideline is 45+, though we do not check ID. What matters most is that members feel they belong in this stage-of-life community.

We do not allow exceptions. Exceptions can quickly become many, and over time this could mean Rambles regularly include people who do not identify as women in midlife and beyond, which would change the nature of the community.

Sole Sister Ramblers was intentionally created as a space for women in this stage of life, and we work carefully to protect that focus.

Many members join specifically because they are seeking connection with peers who share similar life experiences, transitions, priorities, and perspectives.

You are welcome to bring a guest on a Ramble who is not a member of the Sole Circle, as long as they are a woman in midlife and beyond, the Ramble organizer has not set a limit on the number of participants, and their attendance does not prevent someone on the waitlist from joining.

If you would like to bring a guest, please add their name to the list of participants on the Ramble Announcement and note that they are a guest.

Our Sole Sister crew pops into both of your Circle WhatsApp groups each day to answer questions, admit new members, and manage Ramble Announcements.

New members cannot see messages posted before they join, so we repost the welcome message and current Ramble Announcements each day after admitting new members.

We also delete redundant Ramble Announcements to make it easier for everyone to find the most up-to-date information and avoid sign-up confusion.

Messages posted in the Rambling Groups (colored logos) are removed because those groups are only for Ramble Announcements and sign-ups. All social conversation and logistics messages should be posted in the Chatting Groups (black logo).
