The Ramblers’ Camino Training Challenge is designed to prepare you for walking up to 7 hours daily over multiple consecutive days.
Rather than focusing on distance, the walking goals are based on the time spent walking, similar to what you will experience on the Camino.
This 8-week Challenge is intended to be completed in the final two months before your Camino adventure. It assumes that you are already fairly fit or have a regular walking routine and can comfortably walk for more than an hour.
If your Camino plans are further in the future or if you haven’t established a daily walking routine yet and cannot walk for an hour, you can still participate, but you'll need to adjust the suggested walking times to suit your current fitness level.
The training plan includes four walks per week: three shorter walks and one longer walk. It starts with a 1.5-hour long walk and progresses to long walks of 6 hours in the last two weeks.
Additionally, the plan incorporates guided strength and stretching exercises, stamina-building activities, and helpful tips for a successful Camino—such as choosing the right packs and shoes, creating a packing list, and destination information.
