Kim Foley- Rambler Profile

Born in Montreal and rooted in Toronto, Kim Foley blends her urban upbringing with an adventurous spirit and a passion for the outdoors, arts, and global exploration. She believes in saying yes to new experiences (skydiving excluded!), cherishing the community of women who share them, and living by her lifelong philosophy: keep growing, keep learning, stay curious.

I am an urban child with a sense of adventure and a great love for culture and the arts.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t let the fear of failure or embarrassment hold you back from making bold decisions. Those brave leaps—no matter how uncertain—shape your life far more meaningfully than staying safely on the sidelines ever will.

What thing in your life had the most impact on who you are now?

Travelling solo throughout Southeast Asia and the South Pacific in my early 20s profoundly shaped my independence, confidence, and curiosity. Equally influential has been the incredible circle of women friends in my life, whose support, insight, and laughter continue to ground and inspire me.

What is your dream Ramble?

My dream Ramble would be a hut-to-hut, multi-day hike in either the Dolomites or Patagonia—immersed in dramatic landscapes, challenging myself physically, and soaking in the quiet beauty of being far from everyday life.

What are you most afraid of?

Strangely enough, I’m most afraid of the idea of driving off a bridge into water—a completely irrational fear, but one that always makes my heart race.

What is the best advice you ever got?

That you can accomplish even the biggest goals by making small, steady changes—one step at a time, slowly and consistently—which has proven true again and again in my life.

For you, what does a perfect day look like?

A perfect day starts early and includes some kind of outdoor adventure—biking, hiking, skiing, golfing, diving, or simply taking a long Ramble—ideally shared with friends or family. It ends with a good meal, easy conversation, and a strong IPA to toast a day well lived.
