Ann Montana- Rambler Profile

Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Ann spent many years in British Columbia before making Calgary her home 13 years ago. An avid traveller and explorer, she loves discovering new countries, meeting new people, and says that being part of Sole Sister Ramblers has enriched her life emotionally, mentally, and physically.

What matters most to you at this stage of life?

My family, including our two cats and our grand-pup, Ollie the Golden Retriever, work-life balance, and making real connections and friendships.

What age are you, and what age do you feel?

I am 58 years old, but I feel like I'm in my 40s. I think that's because I stay active and connected within my community.

What do you understand about life now that you didn't before?

To be present in every moment. Life goes by so quickly, and being truly present with the people you're with makes it so much more meaningful.

What does freedom mean to you now?

Being able to travel and see the world.

What do you most like to do in your spare time?

Hiking, kayaking, and walking my grand-pup, Ollie.

What is the bravest thing you've ever done?

Starting over after a divorce in a new city with two children.

What life lesson took you the longest to learn?

To not be so hard on myself for my mistakes. And that, for other people to love you, you first need to love yourself.
