Ann Montana Rambler Profile

Ann Montana 🇨🇦 Rambler Profile

Ann Montana, originally from Ancaster, Ontario, now calls Calgary, Alberta, home. At 57, she continues to embrace life with a love for adventure, family, and the outdoors.

What do you love to do?

I feel most alive when I’m outdoors—whether I’m hiking a rugged trail, gliding across the water in my kayak, or traveling to discover new places and cultures. Adventure, fresh air, and movement keep me grounded and inspired.

What was your first job?

My very first job was as a lifeguard, and I absolutely loved it. Being outside all summer, surrounded by water and sunshine, was the perfect way to start my working life.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to live boldly and not care what other people think. Life is too short to play small or worry about fitting into someone else’s expectations.

What’s on your nightstand?

My nightstand is a mix of inspiration and comfort. I keep a photo of my kids close by, my gratitude journal to reflect on each day, and two books that speak to my heart and stage of life: The Women’s Book of Courage by Sue Patton Thorne and The New Menopause by Mary Claire Haver.

What’s the best day of your life?

Without a doubt, the best days of my life were the days my children were born. Nothing compares to those moments of love and joy.

What’s your dream Ramble?

A few years ago, I was fortunate to hike Machu Picchu—a breathtaking and life-changing adventure. Next on my bucket list is the legendary El Camino de Santiago. The thought of walking in the footsteps of countless pilgrims, with time to reflect, connect, and challenge myself, is my ultimate dream Ramble.
