Who Are Our Sole Sisters?
Sole Sister Ramblers is a trailblazing global brand that connects and empowers women in midlife and beyond (45+). Our rapidly growing community connects virtually and in person through a compelling brand ethos and a range of engaging experiences.
Our community connects through a global network of local activity groups called Sole Circles, our website, the Rambler Café blog and email newsletter, a joy-filled Facebook group, a variety of virtual Fitness and Lifestyle Challenges, and curated group travel experiences designed especially for women in our community.
Sole Circles are at the heart of our community, bringing women together for local, in-person Rambles. We currently host Sole Circles in 6 countries and more than 150 cities—and we are working hard to meet the ever-growing demand to build more, with over 350 requested communities on our Sole Circle waiting list.
What makes our community so engaged?
Our community is supported by our deeply committed Rambler Care Crew and an extensive network of volunteer leaders we affectionately call Ranglers. Together, they personally welcome new Ramblers, spark conversations, answer questions, organize local Rambles, and help women transform online introductions into genuine, real-life friendships.
This unique hands-on, human-moderated approach creates an extraordinary level of trust, safety, and participation.
Our Ramblers do not simply scroll past our content. They ask questions, share recommendations, join conversations, attend Rambles, participate in Challenges, and travel together.
Our 5 founders are also active in the community. We know our Sole Sisters, and they know us. There is a genuine feeling that we are building this community together—and that shared ownership inspires tremendous enthusiasm and loyalty.
For potential collaborators, this provides something far more valuable than audience size alone: access to a warm, active, and trusted community where thoughtful recommendations are noticed, discussed, shared, and acted upon.
Mission driven businesses and brand collaborations that genuinely serve women in midlife and beyond can become part of an ongoing community conversation far more compelling than traditional advertising.
A powerful and underserved global market.
According to a recent analysis by AARP people over 50 account for more than half of global consumer spending, and their share is projected to reach 60% by 2050. Women represent an enormous and growing share of this market.
In 2025, there were approximately 664 million women aged 60 and older worldwide—a figure projected to reach 1.13 billion by 2050.
Women already represent approximately 54% of the global population in this age group, according to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
Despite their growing numbers, societal influence, and purchasing power, women in midlife and beyond remain largely overlooked by brands. Sole Sister Ramblers is uniquely positioned to address this significant gap in the market.
What is our unique value for collaborations?
The power of our mission—and the extraordinary enthusiasm, trust, and loyalty of our audience—positions Sole Sister Ramblers to build meaningful and profitable collaborations with brands that share our values and genuinely connect and empower women in midlife and beyond.
In an increasingly fragmented digital advertising landscape, many brands struggle to reach a focused, receptive, and engaged audience. Privacy concerns, changing algorithms, rising advertising costs, and an overwhelming volume of online content have made it increasingly difficult to build trust and inspire action through traditional digital marketing alone.
Sole Sister Ramblers offers something different: a clearly defined global audience united by a shared identity, a compelling mission, and a genuine sense of belonging.
Numerous blogs, podcasts, publications, and social media influencers create content for older women. Community-focused platforms such as Facebook, Meetup, and Eventbrite help people discover local events. Sole Sister Ramblers uniquely brings these elements together within one cohesive, trusted, and joyful brand.
We combine inspiring content, local in-person connection, Virtual Fitness and Lifestyle Challenges, curated group travel, and an expanding global network of in-personal activity groups called Sole Circles.
Women may first discover us through a social media post—but after they do they become part of a vibrant and empowering living community where relationships grow globally and locally both online and in real life.
For aligned collaborators, this offers far more than exposure. Aligned collaborators can be introduced through trusted community channels, become part of relevant and authentic conversations, and reach women who actively seek recommendations and experiences that enrich their lives.
This creates an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with an audience that values trust and word-of-mouth recommendations while generating measurable engagement, loyalty, and action.
When a collaboration genuinely reflects our mission and values, our community pays attention.
A Category Defining Opportunity
Despite the enormous size of this market, no single digital platform dominates it. AARP is the largest platform serving older audiences in the United States, but there is no sizable platform—either in the United States or globally—that combines online community with local, in-person connection specifically for women in midlife and beyond.
Our initial focus was on building an online platform rather than facilitating in-person activities. However, our audience repeatedly asked us to help them connect locally. We listened and launched our first Sole Circle in response to that overwhelming demand.
Since then, Sole Sisters have connected for thousands of Rambles in their hometowns and while travelling. What began as an online community has grown into a global network of real-world friendships, shared adventures, and meaningful support.
Our Sole Sisters cherish the opportunity to meet like-minded, active women who understand the experiences, transitions, opportunities, and uncertainties that come with aging. Our women-only community further strengthens their sense of safety and belonging.
This is a key reason women choose Sole Sister Ramblers over more general event platforms such as Meetup. They know they will be welcomed into a supportive community created specifically for them.
Connection With a Greater Purpose
Sole Sister Ramblers also addresses an increasingly urgent societal and public health need. Loneliness and social isolation among older adults are growing global concerns.
The World Health Organization reports that approximately one in four older adults experiences social isolation, while extensive research demonstrates that strong social relationships support better health, well-being, and longevity.
Sole Sister Ramblers creates the conditions for those relationships to flourish. We make it easier for women to find one another, step outside their comfort zones, remain active, experience new things, and build meaningful friendships during a stage of life when connection matters enormously.
Who is a Sole Sister
Our Sole Sisters are generally between the ages of 45 and 75. Many are college-educated, financially comfortable, family-oriented, active, curious, and eager to continue growing. They look toward the future with both hope and uncertainty.
They find encouragement, confidence, and resilience through friendships with women who understand and uplift them.
For our Sole Sisters, being part of the community provides a profound sense of belonging and safety—particularly when attending an activity or travelling with new people.
Sole Circles are about so much more than walking. They are about connections made, friendships formed, confidence regained, and memories created through shared experiences.
Our Sole Sisters want to try new things and have adventures, but they sometimes need encouragement and support to step outside their comfort zones. They want to attend events, explore new places, and remain active, but they often need help finding companions with whom to do those things.
A community of kind, supportive women helps them feel safe, supported, and brave enough to say yes. Many members tell us they discovered their Sole Circle at precisely the right moment.
Many of our members tell us they discovered their Sole Circle at precisely the right time—after the end of a marriage or relationship, when a partner became ill or less active, after their children left home, following a move to a new community, as they approached or entered retirement, or when they wanted to travel and try new activities but did not have anyone to join them.
Our Sole Sisters sometimes worry about becoming less visible or culturally relevant as they age. At the same time, they are becoming more confident in who they are and less concerned about what others think.
They are curious, engaged, and determined to keep participating fully in the world around them. They care deeply about their health and well-being.
Some are returning to activity after an illness or injury, while others continue to enjoy athletic pursuits such as skiing, cycling, and long-distance hiking. Their favourite activities include travelling, walking, hiking, swimming, playing pickleball, joining book clubs, attending cultural events, learning new things, and socializing.
Most importantly, they value experiences that bring them joy, purpose, friendship, and connection.
Countless testimonials from our community express how happy, relieved, and excited our Sole Sisters are to have finally found a community that sees them, understands them, and inspires them.
Our motto is . . . Everywhere is within Rambling distance with Sole Sisters! For us this means we're building a community that creates enduring connections and friendships wherever our Ramblers are in the world.
