Rules and Safety Disclaimer

Connecting and empowering women in midlife and beyond one Ramble at a time. Everywhere is in Rambling distance with Sole Sisters.

Safety Disclaimer

Please read and adhere to this disclaimer before you embark on a Ramble with your Sole Circle.

Please note that participation in any Sole Circle activity is entirely voluntary and undertaken at your own risk.

If you have any medical conditions that could affect your ability to participate in a Ramble safely —whether due to mobility, balance, heart or respiratory concerns, or anything else—we kindly ask that you consult your doctor before joining a Ramble.

Your safety is very important to us. Walk at your own pace, stay hydrated, and don’t hesitate to skip a ramble if you’re not feeling up to it.

Every Rambler is responsible for her own personal safety while participating in a Ramble, including remaining with the group or alerting someone if leaving the Ramble early or falling behind.

If you have a health issue, it is your responsibility to take appropriate steps to safeguard yourself.

Please understand that there are inherent risks and that you are participating at your own risk, accept these risks, and am responsible for your actions.

Understand that if you want insurance, you must insure yourself

You are responsible for getting the proper instructions and equipment for any activity you participate in.

You assume responsibility for injuries to yourself.

You understand that the Sole Sister Ramblers does not recognize any liability for injury or damage caused to a third party during a ramble.

You understand that if any participant, including yourself, helps others, for example, by advising a route, that does not incur or imply any responsibility on that participant.

Sole Circle Rules

Our Sole Circles are open to all who identify as women in midlife and beyond.

All socializing is allowed in Sole Circle Chatting Groups including messages like happy birthday, congrats, and whatever else people might say at an in-person social event is both allowed and encouraged.

Posting community events is not allowed. Organizers can gauge interest for attending an event in the Chatting Group (e.g., “Does anyone want to go to Apple Fest?”) before officially posting the event as a Ramble Announcement. If you want to organize a Ramble to attend a community event with your Sole Sisters, we encourage that! However, we do not allow the posting of community events or links to other Facebook Groups just for the sake of interest. There are many other places online where this information can be found.

Posting Rambles that may result in financial profit for the Ramble Leader, their friends, or family members is prohibited. You may ask questions such as “@Rambler, what were those shoes you said you loved again while we were walking today?” This is a nuanced distinction, and we will navigate it as needed.

Discussions or Rambles involving politics, religion, or other inflammatory subject matter are not permitted. We all have enough of that in our daily lives.

Members can organize Rambles to support non-political and non-religious charities. We appreciate the charity runs and animal shelter activities currently happening! However, members of our Sole Circles cannot solicit donations or recruit volunteers for charities on our platforms.

Posts about giving away free items, selling personal belongings, or seeking services such as home swaps, rentals, or new homes for pets are not allowed. There are many other places online for these types of transactions.

We ask that you please approach divisive, sensitive, or controversial topics with extra respect, care, and kindness.

This is a welcoming and inclusive community. Please treat everyone with respect and kindness, without judgment.

We encourage you to seek and embrace the magic that emerges from cultivating, renewing, and deepening female friendships in midlife and beyond.

We ask you to support and motivate our mutual efforts to move our bodies more often while exploring the world with creativity and passion.

We hope you will share generously. We have lifetimes of experience, and we hope you'll share yours and ask for support or advice when you need it.
