Christine was born and raised in Holland and now calls Burnaby, British Columbia, home. Recently retired, she finds joy in rambling through BC’s forests, raising and training service dogs, and connecting with her Sole Sister Circle.
Why did you join Sole Sister Ramblers?
I’m relatively new to the Sole Circle world and joined as a way to stay more active in retirement and to share experiences with like-minded women.
What is your favorite colour?
Blue—always blue. The sparkle of water in the sunlight, a sky drenched in sunshine, or simply the calm serenity that blue brings—it’s my forever colour.
What is your favorite place to Ramble?
I love being in the company of trees. Here in British Columbia, we are truly blessed with forests, and I strive to be out amongst them every day.
What are you most passionate about?
I am deeply passionate about the service dog world—raising and training puppies, supporting dogs near graduation, and helping working teams thrive. With my IT background, I also contribute by supporting organizations with their information needs, blending my love of technology with my love for service dogs.
What is your favorite song?
My favourite song is Unstoppable by Sia. For me, it symbolizes the journey of a service dog—putting on their “armor” (their training vest), pushing past challenges, and with guidance and determination, learning to do extraordinary things that ultimately change lives.
What are you most looking forward to in the Burnaby, New Westminster Sole Circle?
I look forward to widening my circle and sharing the beautiful things in life—friendship, laughter, dogs, trees, and open skies.
