Shrinking (TV Series) - Nomi's Pics

Naomi Weisman is a Canadian-Australian and mother of three, who loves to ramble with her dog, cook for family and friends, and laugh whenever possible.

Are there any fans of Ted Lasso out there? If yes, then Shrinking is a must-watch show for you. Created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Scrubs, and Spin City), and Brett Goldstein (the actor who plays Roy Kent in Ted Lasso), this show has similar feel-good qualities that make it equally as addictive.

Shrinking is about a group of people struggling in life for different reasons. The appeal of this show is in how it tackles intense subjects like depression, grief, and addiction with heart and humor. It demonstrates that everyone has tough stuff to deal with and that we don't have to go through it alone.

I have always liked Jason Segel, who plays the lead character Jimmy. I adore his gentle humor. He always plays a flawed yet likable person. Harrison Ford, as Dr. Paul Rhodes, plays his usual gruff but soft character and is the perfect foil that highlights Jason Segel's qualities.

The actor that surprised me was Jessica Williams (Gaby). I have never seen her in anything before, and I am enamored with the way she delivers her lines and interacts with the others. She is often the one who steals the episode for me.

With dry wit and quirky tenderness, Shrinking explores the idea that when we lean on each other, we can heal ourselves individually and strengthen our community at the same time. This aspect of the show resonates with me the most. When the universe seems to be spinning out of control, the messages of love, acceptance, friendship, and community feel like a much-needed salve for our day-to-day wounds.

"The best way to help yourself is to help others... when life gets rough, they will be the ones who help you to the other side"- Jimmy.

As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! Let me know what you're watching, reading, and listening to.
