The 7 Sisters (Book Series) - Nomi's Pics

Naomi Weisman is a Canadian-Australian and mother of three, who loves to ramble with her dog, cook for family and friends, and laugh whenever possible.

Okay, Sole Sisters, I have read A LOT this summer and loved it! In early summer, I met up with a friend I hadn’t seen since high school, fellow SSR Michelle Gibbs. She recommended a book series to me that I had never heard of, The 7 Sisters, by Lucinda Riley.

Each book is over 500-750 pages in length, but they are absolute page-turners. I became immersed very quickly and finished all 8 books in about 6 weeks. Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I hadn’t read them so quickly because I miss them now that I’m finished! Goodness, you’d think I had nothing else to do!

Here is the premise in a nutshell: the enigmatic and elusive billionaire Pa Salt, dies, leaving each of his six adopted daughters a clue about their true heritage. Each book is a time slip novel that follows one of the girls in the search for their countries and families of origin.

The historical part of each story is based around a real-life historical circumstance using actual historical figures, and I found myself using Wikipedia to learn more. The contemporary parts of the books follow each sister and her new-found relatives and include romance and intrigue on every page.

These books have you traveling to Switzerland, where Pa Salt and his family are based, as well as  Brazil, Norway, England, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Kenya, New York City, and France. We meet British royalty and their mistresses, famous composers, civil rights activists, authors, and even members of the IRA!

I also learned about the star formation called the 7 Sisters of the Pleiades and the Greek mythology that it’s named for, which I know very little about. In each book, we learn how this star formation is culturally significant to that place. Fascinating!

Although I read these in the order they were written, it would be okay to read them out of order because of the way they intertwine. If you are looking for a book(s) that will grab you from the first chapter to the last, look no further.

I was captivated from beginning to end, and I think you will be too. I read on Lucinda Riley’s website that this book series might become a television series. That’s exciting!

I hope you enjoy!
