It's Boogie Time (Playlist) - Nomi's Pics

Naomi Weisman is a Canadian, Australian and mother of three, who loves to ramble with her dog, cook for family and friends, and laugh whenever possible.

I love rambling in many different ways. Walking my dog tops the charts for the majority of my kilometers, but I love to kayak, canoe, paddle board, cycle at the gym, and DANCE!

I cannot overstate the importance of music in our lives. It has been an integral part of society for centuries; it is often what represents our feelings, and it can be what defines an era for many of us. The athleticism that goes into all forms of dance is remarkable. Sometimes when I am watching a ballet or the dancers at a concert, I am completely distracted by the sheer power and focus that is required to do what they do.

For me, music is transformative. It can instantly change my mood from reflective to reminiscent, and from melancholy to ebullient. When I’m sitting, music makes me snap my fingers, tap my toes and sway; when I’m driving I become a rockstar in my car, and when I’m cooking, my kitchen becomes my own personal disco.
I have so many memories of dancing.

When I was little, my dad would have me put my feet on his and we would waltz around to the music. As a 12-year-old I remember creating dance routines with my friends that we would perform at school talent nights. When my kids were tiny I would dance around the living room with them to get their wiggles out.

Nowadays, dancing with my friends, my sister, my son, my partner, or just by myself really puts a smile on my face and energizes me. It sparks me in my mind, body, and soul. It was for this reason that I asked members of our Sole Sister Rambler Facebook Group to give me their favorite dance song. To give all of us Sole Sister Ramblers the gift of a joyful dance by yourself or with the ones you love. Together we spark joy and move our bodies.

So, here is the Spotify list with all Sole Sister recommendations. Thank you to everyone who contributed one of their favorite dance tunes. If anyone wants to add to it, drop a song in the comments and I will put it in. I’ve been listening to it on Shuffle. It is eclectic and cool!
