Hoka's Are My Secret Sauce - Rambling Style Files

Rambling essentials from fashion to recipes to gear and everything in between. Style Files is the creation of Jill Cohen Morris, an avid rambler and mother of two from Toronto, Canada, with a remarkable zest for life, a fabulous sense of humor, and remarkable style (of course).

Hey Sole Sisters,

It's time for my rambling style files, where I discuss all things rambling from fashion to recipes to gear and everything in between.

Today, I want to share with you my secret sauce to rambling, my obsession, and my addiction (drum roll), my HOKAS!!

If you don’t know about Hokas pay attention. I have been wearing mine since 2010, recommended by my podiatrist. I had been suffering from foot discomfort and pain for years.

Hello Hokas!! My feet have never felt better … I can easily walk a half marathon with zero discomfort.

Over the years, I have cheated (sorry) and tried other brands … I always come running back as nothing compares.

I started off wearing the Clifton and am now wearing the Bondi 8. They are super cushiony and feel like I am walking on a cloud. I’m not sure how great the Bondi would be for hiking, as most of my rambles are on city streets. I have done moderate to intermediate hiking in Arizona and Italy, and they held up.

I tried the Bondi for pickleball, but they were not supportive enough and a little too cushiony for lateral movements. I have been wearing the Hoka Arahi 6, which has been perfect. I also wear those at the gym for my non-cardio workouts. They are a neutral shoe with more stability.

Are you ready to take the plunge? If so, I highly recommend you find a store that sells them—most sporting goods stores do.

There are so many different models that it’s important to find what works best for you. Just because I’m obsessed with Bondi doesn’t mean you will be. I feel like you will, though, lol!!!

Once you figure out your size and the model you like, you can easily order online. In fact, in my experience, the color choices are way better online.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Are you a Hoka wearer already? Will you dare to try it? Let me know in the comments!
