It's time for my Rambling Style Files, where I discuss all things rambling, from fashion to recipes to gear and everything in between.
Gone are the days of lying in the sun slathered with baby oil and tin foil angled just perfectly to get the optimum sun exposure and burn!! Bring back memories?? What were we thinking??
Fast forward to today. I do everything I can to protect my skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Not an easy task when I find myself rambling outside for hours relishing in the feeling of the sun. Don’t kid yourself, you can still get a sunburn when it’s cloudy. Did you know over 90% of UV radiation from the sun can still come through the clouds?
After much trial and error, including different sunscreens, clothing and doing my best to ramble in the shade, I have finally found something I love. Would you believe it is fashionable, functional and well-priced?
Meet the Airism zip-up hoodie from Uniqlo! You are probably thinking why would you wear long sleeves in the heat?? It actually has a cooling effect as well as UV protection. Your arms are covered, You can even cover your hands with the thumb slot (who wants those nasty sun spots, I have enough already), and zips right up to protect your chest.
Added bonus, the pockets are amazing … big enough to hold a phone or water bottle and deep enough that it won’t fall out!!
It comes in a myriad of colors. I’m wearing the black. It even comes in hot pink to match our Sole Sister Rambler hot pink t-shirt.
