Sole Circle FAQs
Sole Circles are how we connect our global community of women for local rambles.
Everyone is a leader in a Sole Circle. Rambles are organized by the circle members, and any member can lead a ramble and invite others to join.
A ramble can be any activity you enjoy, such as a casual stroll, a brisk hike, a bike ride, paddle, pickleball, visiting an outdoor market or festival, or anything else you find fun.
Each Sole Circle has two WhatsApp chat groups.
The Rambling chat group is for posting Ramble Announcements and for signing up for Rambles using our copy, paste, add your name, and send system.
Every circle also has a chatting group to brainstorm ramble ideas, share post ramble 'show notes' and pics.
There can be multiple Ramble Announcements posted in a circle at any given time. Our most vibrant groups have multiple rambles posted at a time.
Our focus is women in midlife and beyond and the women in this group are generally 45+.
Our Sole Circles are open to all born as or identify as women.
Our focus is women in midlife and beyond and the women in this group are generally 45+. Our focus is on the commonalities women in this age group enjoy.
We approach divisive, sensitive, or controversial topics with extra respect, care, and kindness and spread love, likes, and comments generously.
This is a welcoming and inclusive community. Please treat everyone with respect and kindness without judgment.
We encourage you to seek and embrace the magic that emerges from cultivating, renewing, and deepening female friendships in midlife and beyond.
We support and motivate each other's efforts to move our bodies more often while exploring the world with creativity and passion.
We share generously. We have lifetimes of experience, and we hope you'll share yours on your rambles. Ask for support or advice when you need it.
We do not allow promotional posts. If you want to promote your product, services, or event with Sole Sister Ramblers, please email us at hellorambler@solesisterramblers.com.
Any rambler can post a Ramble Announcement, then others sign up by cutting, pasting, adding their name, and then re-sending.
Ramble Announcements provide all the details so that others can decide if they want to attend.
Here is the template outlining all the information to include in a Ramble Announcement.
It's okay to lead and post rambles that aren’t accessible or appealing to all ramblers.
Different types of rambles have different accessibility levels, and that's fine.
For instance, we once had a ramble for advanced scuba divers and another catered to those recovering from an injury or confined to a wheelchair.
All Sole Circle members are ramble leaders. If you crave a particular kind of ramble lead one, describe it in a Ramble Announcement, including the necessary skills and distance, and other members can decide if it suits them.
If you are not ready or not interested in leading, use your chatting group to find like-minded ramblers.
Sole Circles thrive when a diverse range of rambles are posted at any given time!
We host our Sole Circles on WhatsApp.
It gets busy in our Sole Circles, so we suggest you take a moment to set your WhatsApp notifications to your preference.
Note you can adjust your settings to mute notifications on one group only, and also set it so WhatsApp doesn’t download images to your phone or store data.
Here's a link to a help page about setting up your notifications the way you want them.
